Student Grants
With the Student
grant’s (SUSI) now closed there has been serious failures to protect the most
vulnerable in society. Being a student myself I can see what has happened on
the ground , the Government has attacked the student’s with this savage
increase of €250 which will also increase a further €500 over the coming 2
years which will impact heavily on them. This is one of many broken promise’s
the government have broken.
Many Student waited
three months for their grants which has caused many of them to go without
facilities in college and living off little or no food with many relying on
Food Boxes from Student Unions. It’s Imperative that this must not happen again
as student’s can’t go through this stress and hardship again in the coming
years.
I will fight for this issue on behalf of all the student’s to best of my
ability, Fianna Fáil will stand up to the government on this issue. This is a
cruel injustice and I call on the Government to holt plans to increase student
fees.
